Case design

The case design is done, except one thing, and I would like to know what you think about that:
Should I add holes on the back plate to be able to attach you Gamebuino anywhere ? (on the wall to make a weather station with data logging on the SD card, on your 3D printer to use it as a monitor, on you wrist to use it as a PipBoy3000, etc.)

The slotted holes are highlighed in blue. It's just an example about how it could be done.

I think that an average hacker can drill holes to his/her own needs. On the other hand, I cannot see any reason why not to have them by default.

+1 good idea

I think it is nice too.
Even if I don´t use them, it won´t do any harm and may come good in case needed.

It will look better if they are laser cut than if they are drilled by hand (and acrylic tends to crack when you don't drill it properly).
I thought it might be less ergonomic if there is holes on the bottom side. And it could make the case weaker. And it doesn't really look good (but I can improve that).
Okay then, if everybody agree I'll make holes on the back part! Now I have to find a clever way to arrange these holes for them to be usable for anything.

I'd say, skip the holes, it's just another place for grit and dust to get inside the Gamebuino. Since there is plenty of space around the back cover, and there are screw holes, creative people can devise their own mounts. I would simply use longer screws if I had to mount it to something.

You can always attach things using these parts. Although, to have the holes (a bit smaller) seems a good idea.

What about something like that:

The curved slots makes it look nicer, and allow to attach it on holes with different spacing.
I could also make 4 slots with a 'X' shape.

Curved slots will make it harder to hold it in place if you're using something like a claw mount, or looping a belt (think pip boy) through it.

Just the two vertical, straight slots might be best. If you're worried about breakage, you could consider moving them closer to the center.

I looks pretty nice with the paper protection on the acrylic. It looks like a wooden toy for kids (geeky kids). I'll let it so everybody can choose to remove it or not.
