Hi, for some time I was working on a 3D clone of Tetris (like DOS game Blockout). The Gamebuino screen resolution does not allow for an efficient 3D perpective top-down view, so I used this a simplistic 2.5D projection.
The controls were quite troublesome since in the game there are 4 possible movements, 6 rotations and also drop action, while Gamebuino has only 6 buttons excluding C. Therefore I used A and B as "shift keys" to modify the meaning of direction buttons. It think it may be very hard for a new person to use the game.
The most trouble I had with making the rotation work in a natural way, also using as little additional memory as possible. What seemed to be a very simple problem led me to redesigning the approach several times.
The game does not have features like high score or different starting levels yet. The graphics is very rudimentary as well.
I'm thinking about open sourcing the game, after I clean it up.
Let me know what you think - is it worth to invest any more time in the game? As mentioned, the controls may be a deal breaker.
