That's an impressive little animation. (and shows why the ball even exists XD)

I was planning on using it as the jump animation / screw attack, because I want the ball to be smaller.

The first thing I think I am going to try is a graphically simple endless runner. I am a big fan of the BIT.TRIP games, so a 'de-make' of their browser version of BIT.TRIP Runner is something I am willing to tackle - http://www.commandervideo.com/. As you can see it has a 'retro' pixely aesthetic to it already, so I feel it might shrink down ok.

BTW, great art everyone. I am a programmer myself so sprites are going to be a challenge for me!

I would say do not worry about sprites, there are plenty of very good pixel artists here. I would worry more about music and sound effects.

Don't worry, I just finished the new sound library, and we have some good chiptune artists interested in the project, The Other Days for example.

Will they be available to make music and sound effects for our games?

They will make musics for Gamebuino, so you'll be able to use them in your games. But if you want a unique chiptune just for your game I don't know ^^
If the community lacks chiptune artists, I'll organize some music composition contests ;)

Ok, good, and great idea. I am very a-musical, so if I had to make my own music, most people would not want to hear it. ;)

Really good point. I admit that music/sfx is always an afterthought for me... maybe it's time to change that!
