Hello,
I'm working on a complex DIY Gamebuino. As expected i run out of digital pins
Will it be possible to use Software Serial on the digital pins from an IO expander (PCF8574), the buttons should be possible, i'll have to modify the library i guess. I need two Software Serials or at least one. Also i'm using the VQFN version of ATmega so i don't have the A6 and A7 pins too.
Any sugestions?
Thank you for taking your time to read this. Have a nice day guys
Georgian Borca.

After a lot of research, I foud a solution. There are some i2c/spi to UART ICs and it happens that for one of them there are some library already written. Here is the datasheet. I hope to get it working. I'll keep you guys updated if i manage to get it to work.

New update. This thig works great but it has an 64 bytes internal buffer. A GSM modem sends more data then this little guy can receive in one go.
