Actually a super-duper fine tip isn't that important, in my experience what matters is having a clean, white shiny tip and good pair of thin pliers. Well I didn't inven't that, you'll find more information in

A messy and gunky tip is hard to use, and get the solder to stick. I can't help but keep mine perfectly silver.
