Interesting Link Cable Behavior

Postby MechanicalPen » Sun Sep 20, 2015 4:03 pm

When I have two Gamuino linked via I2C cable it becomes impossible to turn one of them off; they both have to have their power switches in the off position before they'll both turn off. Also when connected, powering up one powers up the other even if its switch is in the off position.

Is that supposed to be like that?

Yeah that is because you also transmit the ground and 3V3 (power supply) so that is totally normal.

To power whatever attachment you attach. Makes sense.

...Since it supplies power what are the dangers of plugging in a cable backwards? Because I've done that before.

I think the worst that can happen is that you drain your batteries very fast but don't count me on that...
