Not for nothing, but I thought I'd throw my two cents in for additional resource.
I took off the screen wedge and haven't had any problems with the screen. I had a nokia 5110 before the campaign started and it is basically what is on the GBO but without any additional pressure on it. I haven't done any mechanical testing but didn't see why it was necessary to increase the force on the screen.
Maybe the elastomeric is responsible for the flaky results... I wonder what the life expectancy of that stuff is..?
