Advice on general approaches or feasibility and discussions about game design

Here is my art concept for Pac-Man game.
The original game map does not fit whole in the screen, so there are two possibilities - use scrolling (but you will not see an entire game and ghosts all the time) or create a smaller map. Also game could be oriented vertically.

Looks great! I think the vertical solution+more optimized gfx might just fit greatly!
Keep it up!

I agree, looks great. I think vertical scrolling should be okay. You could also add several different maps (why not a really large one), and multiplayer \o/
And then you could drop bombs to kill enemies and breaks walls... just kidding.

Go with Scrolling.
Also, two ways to implement Multiplayer:
1. 2-4 players, bigger maps, 2-4 pacmans.
2. 2-4 players, 1-2 pac-man, 1-3 ghosts.
In addition, you might get sued for calling it "Pac-man". How about "Cherry Picker"?
Just throwing out random thoughts.

I've taken inspiration from the
Atari 2600 version of pacman:
There are some other field configurations which can work as well.

Pac-man´s maze is quite tough to fit into a single screen, well done!
I here have a half-way test to see if it fits vertically.
I still prefer the scroll+bombs+multiplayer idea though...

I meant bomberman, but that's a different game... or we could mix it with pacman : you eat ghosts while you have to bomb the other human players in a large scrolling map >_<

Nice work DaCoTa, you used 3x3 pacman size, I planned 5x5, so you fitted bigger maze. But it will be hard to animate pacman/ghosts and ill ghosts.
Erico's image looks promising I wonder how will fully gray screen look like.
I would prefer not to use scrolling, as I want player to be able to see all ghosts at a time as it was on original PacMan.
Multiplayer Bomberman is also great game.
