Super Crate Buino

rodot Sun Jun 07, 2015 8:10 pm
Heya,
The game I started in this topic is now ready to be played! \o/

Image

This is how the game works :
- Each crate you collect gives you 1 point
- You have to kill the enemies (or they'll kill you), but it makes no points
- The enemies keep spawning at the top of the map, the higher you score the faster they spawn
- When an enemy reaches the bottom of the map, it comes back to the top instantly but angry and running faster
- You start with only a pistol and a little map, but there is a total of 13 very different weapons and 5 maps to unlock by scoring points

You can download the source, hex and inf from github.

All the weapons you can unlock :

Add lives or an easy mode that gives you 3 hits like Crabator

Thanks for your feedback guys :)

You find it too difficult ? How far did you go, how long did it took ?
It's normal if you start to struggle when you get to the second map, and it's normal to die every 30 seconds :P

:o This is so awesome!

I played this game in the emulator because I am waiting for my gamebuino to arrive.

@Rodot: I liked your particle system and physics. Currently, I am making games with Unity3d, so I didn't need to worry about physics engine coding because it's has a physics engine, but I really interested how it works. I hope to make good games for Gamebuino like this.

This is looking amazing, there's so much variety here that I can play for days! I hope to get my code to dance like this one day :D

@nownew I'm coming from Unity3D as well, it's a real test of your programming but oh so rewarding when you get it right!

I received my Gamebuino today, and I must say, this is an really, really addicting game. Even though it's not my favorite genre, this game alone was worth the purchase! :-)

Hehe, thanks for the feedback. I only ported it to the Gamebuino, all the merit goes to the Super Crate Box creator ^_^

sorry we deal with allot of spam behind the scenes

Totally agree with ClockworkPlanet!
The forum is nearly dead.
You could just validate presentation and let users post whatever they want after the presentation is validated. It will avoid spam.

It takes several to post something and several days to have a reply. A newbie may quit quickly...

It's very very unpleasant to wait and wait to share something or to have a reply after a developpement problem.

(Sorry for my bad english).

Sorry about that, I got quite overwhelmed lately (work, study...) and didn't check the forum often enough. I removed the approval for new users as I managed to reduce spam, so new users can post and get answers right away. Problem solved! :)
