Gamebuino restting on SD Card read

One of my two Gamebuinos is acting up!
When I try turning on the misbehaving Gamebuino, it plays the startup sound then either freeze on 'reading sd card', resets up to three times before freezeing on 'reading sd card', or freezes on 'reading sd card' AND the backlight turns off. Startign it up without an SD card in the slots has it say "Insert SD & restart" as normal. It behaves this way for both of the SD cards I have.
Any ideas?

I think it may be related to battery... When is the last time you used it?

Try charging the gamebuino and try inserting the sd card while it is turned on

I charged up the battery. Now it no longer resets but still stays on the "Reading SD card..." screen.

I reformatted the SD card and held 'C' on boot. It's working okay now. The backlight and screen seem to flicker whenever there it reads the SD card. But it works well enough to do two player testing.
